LOS ANGELES – Hilary Duff is loving being a new mother of two.
Speaking on Fox News, the “Younger” star opened up about how her life has changed since welcoming daughter Banks almost two months ago.
“I love it, but also, I’m so tired!” Duff, 31, admitted. “But it is amazing. She is so dreamy. I call her juicy fruit – she is chunking up a bit.”
The actress could not be more grateful that her 6-year-old son Luca, is a great big brother.
“He always has his hands on her cheeks and kissing her,” Duff gushed. “He is very sweet. Frankly, it is as if they have always been there, and I was very nervous, because there is such a large age difference and it is just for a long time.
“He was really not so excited when I told him that I was pregnant,” she recalled, adding that she remembered thinking to himself: “Oh no, this is going to be tough.'”
Fortunately, Luca “warmed to the idea” if Duff pregnancy went.
“When I saw her it was just a chemical reaction,” she explained of her little man, who she shares with ex Mike Comrie. “He knows that his sister and he has to take care of her. [There is] not a jealous bone in his body. It is so sweet.”
As for the toughest part of being a family of four? Duff said it was “an hour or 5 hours is a little more difficult” than she initially thought it would be.
“It’s just fully on. The extra hands I during the day, everyone is going on 5, so once 5 is on, it is like homework, and bath for both kids, and try to get dinner on the table, and still try to play, and still try to feed.
“It’s like everything in one time,” she explained. “But other than that it’s great and I have a feeling that because I’m a second time mama, I’m a lot less concerned about everything that happens.”
It also makes it easier that her baby is a girl, who they welcomed on October 25, with boyfriend Matthew Koma is a great “road dog.”
“I have to go, and the places for Luca, and I can’t leave her, because I am the source of food, so they just kind of comes, and she is amazing.”
Although the new mother of two has a lot on her plate, she still makes sure to find time for a cause close to her heart – raising funds and awareness for the pups in need.
“We have two dogs that I have rescued by Love Leo Rescue – Lucy and Momo – and they are an important part of our family,” Duff explained to us during the Love Leo Rescue of the 1st Annual Cocktails for a Cause event at Rolling Greens Nursery in Los Angeles.
“As we raise money to help where we can – the dogs need operations, housing – everything is going to a good cause, and anything I can do to help, of course I am [Sasha Abelson] that started his Love Leo.”
Duff also revealed another project she hopes to one day: a “Lizzie McGuire” reboot.
“It is in very new levels,” the actress, who played as McGuire in the Disney series, shared. “There’s been a lot of creative talk.”
Although it’s been 14 years since fans last saw Lizzie and her friends Miranda and Gordo on the small screen, Duff could not be more excited about the opportunity to come back.

“I think that the timing is not yet right,” Duff noted. “I am excited at the prospect of it.
“[Lizzie McGuire] was important to so many people, including me, if they can be important to get back to the girls in this phase of their life, I think that would be great.”
