Heracles must Fledderus long miss due to torn cruciate ligament
Mark-Jan Fledderus should be the largest part of this Eredivisieseizoen to pass. The defender of Heracles Almelo has the rear cruciate ligament of his left knee torn.
The 33-year-old Fledderus ran the injury last Saturday in the away game against Excelsior (3-1 loss) and is expected to be nine to twelve months on the side.
“It was actually a very strange moment,” says the Engineering, on the club of Heracles. “I came down on my other leg, but felt that it was not right in my left knee. I have the match be played out, but actually, I could do nothing more.”
“You hope always that bad, but this is of course a huge downer. When an anterior cruciate ligament, you know that the revalidatietraject six to nine months requires that, to my posterior cruciate ligament is still wait and see.”
Fledderus has Wednesday, an appointment with a doctor, and then more will become clear. “It’s going to in any case take a long time, but I go there, of course, to do everything as quickly as possible and get fit.”

The contract of the experienced lefty in the Polman Stadium runs until the end of this season. How are the future, then looks, is not currently of interest for Fledderus. “I’m sober, I’m going to focus first on the recovery, I want to be fully fit again. Then I see further,” he says against Tubantia.
Fledderus turned in the summer of 2014 in Almelo, the netherlands after three seasons at Roda JC. Earlier, it was the defender-cum-midfielder for FC Groningen, Telstar and sc Heerenveen.
