Henk Krol does after appeal, Gay Newspaper not to pay back

50PLUS-leader Henk Krol does final no money to pay back to the Foundation of Friends of the Gay Krant (SVGK). The SVGK went in appeal, after a ruling in February 2017, but now Krol by the court in the equal.

The foundation received in 2014 more than 200,000 euro grant for emancipatieprojecten of the ministry of Education. That amount was recalled because adequate substantiation of the expenditure would be missing. The board members accused former chairman Henk Krol that he the public money had been misused to the Gay Newspaper to keep afloat. The magazine went later bankrupt and made a comeback online.

In February 2017 was by the court determined that Krol the public did not have to pay it back. Because the former board members of the SVGK feared that they the grant itself had to pay back, tied them personally, a second case. On appeal was in september 2017, provided that there was no evidence of misuse of the grant. That the directors according to the judge, “no fear, more need to have.”

However, there was an appeal filed for the ruling in February 2017, which, from the foundation against Krol walked. The court has now the judgment of February ratified. Thus is the case against Krol definitively completed.
