Heemskerk and Neumann by clicking world cup, Weertman and Kamminga off
Femke Heemskerk and Robin Neumann Tuesday at the world swimming CHAMPIONSHIPS the semi-finals in the 200 meters free battle. Ferry Weertman was eliminated in the semi-final battle in the 800-meter freestyle, while Arno Kamminga a place in the last sixteen in the 50 metres breaststroke misliep.
Heemskerk klokte on the 200 free overall the seventh time (1.57,06) and Neumann tapped in 1.58,66, with which they as sixteenth and last to the semi-final battle. The semi-finals are Tuesday night swim.
Earlier this world cup captured the 29-year-old Heemskerk with the estafetteploeg bronze on the 4×100 meters free battle. The 19-year-old Neumann, makes its debut on a world cup excellent tactical and technical skills.
Weertman, who recently won gold in the 10 km open water, was in a time of 7.56,44 second in his series on the 800 free. That, however, proved insufficient for a place in the final. Weertman (25) was overall fifteenth, and only the first nine go through to the final battle.
The 21-year-old Kamminga set a Dutch record in the 50 metres breaststroke in Budapest. His time of 27,39 was not direct enough for a place in the semi finals.
Kamminga was divided, one sixteenth, making him in a swim-off must compete for a place in the semi finals. He had to be in it are several recognise in the Slovenian Peter Stevens, who 27,38 a fraction faster than the Russian Vsevolod Zanko (27,41) and Kamminga (27,43).
