Heavier accidents with a rental scooter on holiday
Dutch tourists get abroad, still heavier accidents with rented scooters. That says Eurocross Assistance, the Netherlands emergency centre that specializes in global relief efforts.
“The injury that is reported is more serious than a number of years ago. Think of a bovenbeenbreuk, a bekkenbreuk and injuries to the head,” says Nicole Bootsma, head of the medical team of the emergency centre.
A statement which injuries still heavier loss, the alarm panel is not. “We think that the Dutch are becoming more adventurous and like to independently draw from them. Possible that they are on vacation easier,” said a spokeswoman.
Eurocross press people on the heart, pay close attention to local traffic rules, the driving style to adapt to mountainous terrain and be alert to weather conditions that drive more dangerous. “Especially if the soil is very dry or just has rained, it is to be careful blown.” Also, it is wise wearing protective clothing and does not “just flipflops and a bikini”.
