CINCINNATI – A man accused of spray painting swastikas and the phrase “white power” on a biracial couple’s Cincinnati house is indicted on federal hate crime charges.
Prosecutors say 41-year-old Samuel Whitt broke into the house during the Thanksgiving holiday, while the couple was out of town.
They say that he had rented the lower level of the couple expelled from the house.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that researchers say Whitt also poured cement down the drains and splashing paint on the walls and equipment.
He had all of his other costs in connection with the vandalism to officers of justice requested to the hate crime chares. He was taken into custody Wednesday.
A message seeking comment was left with his lawyer.
