Hassan was very happy after world cup medal after ‘grumpy days’

Sifan Hassan special on the final day of the world CHAMPIONSHIP of athletics in London at the beautiful way for her disappointing performance in the 1500 metres. In the 5000 meters ran the Dutch Sunday surprisingly to the bronze.

“I was hoping that everyone, as long as you would wait, because I knew that I still had a final sprint in my legs, had to have it. I am now really really happy. This gives so much confidence.”

Hassan hastened by a handsome finishing sprint away from the Ethiopian Senbere Teferi, who as the fourth ended.

Obiri was almost eight seconds faster than Hassan.

Hassan ended up in a time of 14.42,73, slightly more than a second above her Dutch record.

“I love you all so much for you’, said Hassan after her race over the Dutch.

The focus of the Ethiopia born athlete was for this tournament, especially in the 1500 metres, but she could her role did not live up to and handle them even next to the medals.

“That did so much pain. And that is why I was now unsure of myself. I didn’t want to fast break. My goal was the 1500 metres. I have also trained for this task. But bronze at this distance is beautiful.”

The bronze medal in the 5000 meter may have implications for the future plans of Hassan in athletics. “If I go work out at this distance, I can here even more self-confidence and be even better. Believe me, this is my distance. In the long term, I can fight with Obiri and Ayana. I simply need more training.”

Hassan spoke for three days no one after they the gold was lost in the 1500 metres. “No one was allowed to have my grumpy face to see,” said the 24-year-old athlete.

Meanwhile, she was in her head all busy with rehabilitation. “My coach said that I for bronze had to go, because I was ninth on the world rankings. I’m gone, and I am therefore also happy with this medal.”

Hassan felt himself supported by the many comments that they are from the Netherlands got after her failed 1500 metres. “I love all so many of you”, said the athlete while they are right in the camera looked.

For Hassan, it is her second medal at a world CHAMPIONSHIPS in the open air. Two years ago in Beijing, she won also bronze, but then in the 1500 metres.

Susan Krumins finished just after Hassan eighth. “There, I can live with that,” said the number five of the 10,000 metres at this world cup.

“I’m here for a medal run. That was not successful, but I’ve tried.”
