Hans Kesting and Wine Dierickx win Louis en Theo d’or
Hans Kesting and Wine Dierickx have the main toneelprijzen of the Netherlands won.
Kesting received the Louis d’or, the prize for best male actor, for his role as Richard III in Kings of War from Toneelgroep Amsterdam. Dierckx won the female counterpart, the Theo d’or for her role of staff of the Karen in the show Helpdesk of Wunderbaum.
The actors got the awards Sunday night presented in the Amsterdam Stadsschouwburg, during the Gala of Dutch Theatre. This is the Dutch Theatre Festival ended.
“Hans Kesting is someone for whom you are a show – and he astounded the jury two times this season in both Kings of War as in The Welwillenden. What he adds to energy is unbelievable”, says the commentary in the jury’s report.
And Dierickx in the Helpdesk says to the jury: “Incredibly clever plays Dierickx the spectator with this almost mathematical connection between emotions and phone calls.”
Actress Ilke Paddenburg won the Colombina, the award for the best female supporting role. The jury found her ‘sophisticated’ and ‘beautiful’ in A kind of Hades of Theatre Utrecht.
The Arlecchino, the prize for the best male supporting role, went to Risto Kübar for his role in This are the names of NTGent. “With something instinctiefs in his game, as if any moment he can attack, he bears the tension of the whole performance.”
The Regieprijs for most impressive regieprestatie of the past season was for Thibaud Delpeut, director of A kind of Hades.
