Handsome final sprint delivers Sifan Hassan world CHAMPIONSHIPS-bronze at 5 km
Sifan Hassan Sunday on the final day of the world CHAMPIONSHIP of athletics, still a medal conquered. The Dutch took bronze in the 5 km in a Kenyan Hellen Obiri won the race.
Susan Krumins ran in the finals in the wake of Hassan to the eighth place. The 31-year-old in Nijmegen ended in London earlier on a handsome fifth place in the 10,000 meters and was made in 2013 and 2015 also eighth in the 5km at the world CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Hassan remained with a time of 14 minutes and 42,73 seconds but half a second above her Dutch record, that they may ran into Eugene (14.41,24).
The 27-year-old Obiri, leader of the world ranking of 2017, picked up her first world title outdoors with a time of 14.34,86. Titelverdedigster Almaz Ayana from Ethiopia, ending more than five seconds as the second (14.40,35). Krumins ran 14.58,33.

After a very slow start of the 5000 meter accelerated Ayana Sunday after 1500 meters. The winner of the 10 km at these world CHAMPIONSHIPS in London struck a hole along with Obiri.
Hassan and later also Krumins locks on to a second group, but still more than a kilometre to go had Krumins solve.
Hassan was after four kilometers together with the Ethiopian Senbere Teferi, and the Kenyan Margaret Kipkemboi in a second group. With a very strong eindschot hastened to the Dutch in the last round for the bronze medal. Teferi finished almost five seconds of Hassan as the fourth.
