FC Groningen has announced Monday that the beloftenploeg next season, no more will be released in the voetbalpiramide. The main reason for that decision is that dispensatiespelers from this season are no longer allowed.
Jong FC Groningen is working on his third year in the voetbalpiramide. Currently the team fifth in the Third Division on Saturday.
“There are several reasons why FC Groningen until the decision came to stop with a separate team in the age group of 23,” writes the club on its website. “The dispensatieregels prior to this season, so strengthened, that there is no possibility to have enough players from the first selection time to give.”
Players 24 years of age or older are allowed by the tougher rules no longer true to the promise teams. In addition, the talents in the first team to the reserves sit in the same turn of the game no longer in action for the beloftenploeg.
