Griepgolf in the Netherlands there are already eleven weeks
The griepgolf in the Netherlands is still not over. It is the eleventh week in a row that a lot of people lying in bed with flu-like symptoms.
This is evident from Tuesday published figures from research institute Nivel. The institute states that there is a mild epidemic.
Last week went to 97 on the 100,000 people with the flu go to the doctor. A week earlier, there were 137, and the week before that 95. If two consecutive weeks more than 51 for every 100,000 people influenza is considered an epidemic. An average flu epidemic lasts eight weeks.
General practitioners see a lot of young children up to four years with griepverschijnselen. Nivel holds the flu in the Netherlands in the holes via a representative group of general practitioners in the whole country.
