Greenpeace receives 2.7 million euros after entering the ship by Russia

The netherlands and Russia have reached settlement in the case that runs to the boarding of a vessel of Greenpeace in 2013. The organization will receive a compensation of 2.7 million euros.

In september 2013, the ship, the Arctic Sunrise by Russia at the necklace laid during a campaign.

The activists on board and two freelance journalists were arrested, and two months detained. In total, this was thirty people.

An arbitral tribunal ruled in 2015 that Russia wrong had acted, and the ship unlawful had boarded. In 2017, it was also ruled that Russia pay compensation of 5.4 million euros, to pay interest, of which the largest part to the environmental organization had to go for the damage suffered.
