Is charge against Kavanaugh derail his nomination?
Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh faces charges of sexual misconduct, when he was in high school.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley on Wednesday to unload a barrage of criticism on sen Dianne Feinstein, for their handling of the sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, say, the ranking Democrat on the Committee, “I can’t emphasize enough how disappointed I am.”
Feinstein “says she chose to sit to the allegations until a politically opportune moment,” Grassley demanded immediately an unredacted copy of the letter from Kavanaugh is the Prosecutor, Christine Blasey Ford, and that Feinstein received. July 30.
Feinstein, D-Calif., together the letter with the Federal authorities, and other senators as recently as last week, days before the key of the legal Affairs Committee to vote on Kavanaugh’s confirmation, according to a leak on the letter was published in The Intercept. Republicans accused of orchestrating the Democrats, that leak.
Grassley, R-Iowa, who called the document a “clear proof of judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation process,” said that despite several requests, he has still only access to a redacted copy of the letter to the supplementary background materials provided by the FBI to a select group of senators.

He claims that he needs the full version of the document, “preparing for Monday’s hearings” in the allegations against Kavanaugh. Ford lawyers are not strongly recommended in a letter late on Tuesday that they appear in the hearing until the FBI conducts a “full investigation” in to their demands.

In a follow-up letter on Wednesday, the lawyers, Lisa banks and Debra Katz, doubled down request, also as a Republican, it is not characterized as stall tactics, the fact to excuse Ford from providing sworn testimony before the Senate.
“Dr. Ford was reluctantly thrust into the public spotlight only two days. It is not currently able to go home, and ongoing threats gets to your and your family’s safety,” the lawyers wrote. To dictate “Fairness and respect for your situation, you should have time to deal with this. She continues to believe that a full and impartial investigation of this case is necessary, and is willing to cooperate with the Committee. “
The lawyers went on to suggest that more witnesses should be called for a hearing on the legitimacy. On Wednesday, a former classmate of Kavanaugh said that he does not have a “memory” of any incident at the house party of Ford, while another witness, who had backed up the Ford, your online account, after discrepancies showed up, and they admitted that it was based on first-hand knowledge.
“The Committee is of the stated plan to move forward with a hearing, the only two witnesses is not fair, or good faith of the investigation; there are several witnesses, whose names are published publicly, and in every procedure,” Ford’s lawyers should continue. “The rush to a hearing is not required, and in contrast to the the Committee is the discovery of the truth.”
Sources told Fox News that the Senate are the Republicans the only ones working to get ready for Monday factfinding hearing, the seems ready to go, even without Ford’s participation. The White house confirmation team on Tuesday introduced a so-called “murder board” with Kavanaugh, in order to test him with difficult questions, he may during his testimony. Kavanaugh has also added in the meeting, the sources said, adding that “he was solid – there was no fluctuate.”

Feinstein appeared to wash their hands of the process in a brief interview outside his Senate office with Fox News on Tuesday, said: “I have nothing to say, I am the lead Democrat. … I think it’s really a pity that nobody called you or your attorney.”
She added: “This is a woman who are deeply affected by it. Now, I can’t say that everything is true. I don’t know.”
“I can’t emphasize enough how disappointed I am.”

Top Republicans have said they called several times and emailed Ford lawyers, who have offered to fly employees to speak to California “or anywhere else”, with Ford. They have also offered her either a private or a public hearing, but have not heard back.
In his letter Thursday, Grassley clearly Feinstein proposals, dismissed, that her delays were motivated by a desire to protect Ford’s identity, and suggested that their actions had in fact jeopardized any legitimate desire to preserve their anonymity.
“These allegations have been charged to me, or to Judge Kavanaugh, while protecting Dr. Ford anonymity,” said Grassley. “Had Dr. Ford made her allegations public through The Washington Post over the weekend, I don’t know your identity.”
He continued: “These allegations has been raised, both within the last seven weeks, and in a way that protected Dr. Ford anonymity. Instead, you have to sit to the allegations until a politically opportune moment. I can’t stress enough how disappointed I am in this decision.”
President Trump and again, the argument Wednesday repeated, even as he asked to speak to Ford, the justice Committee and said that she deserved it.
“Why did you wait [for the Democrats], until everything was finished, and then you bring it up? This doesn’t look good” Trump said.

Also on Wednesday, Grassley, two other letters-one of Ford’s lawyers are pushing to appear to be sent, on Monday scheduled a hearing in their claims, and other biting letter to Senate judiciary Committee Democrats.
GRASSLEY READ THE OVERTURE TO FORD LAWYERS, SCATHING LETTERS TO DEMS
In these letters, Grassley railed against Democrats’ “abuse of this confirmation process” by “delay and disability … with every argument.” He repeated that on Monday the hearing would remain on the calendar despite Democrats’ objections.”
“I’m going to see more complaints about this process very skeptical,” he said.
The Chairman of the Committee on the rights of the flat in dispute claims by Ford’s lawyers that he requested had to listen to Kavanaugh sit at the same “table” with Ford on Monday, or had he sought only publicly televised hearing. Instead, Grassley said, Ford offered the opportunity to testify privately in a confidential meeting with Republican senators and staff, without Kavanaugh in the vicinity.
Grassley has also repeated proposals by top Democrats and the Ford attorneys rejected that an FBI probe would be appropriate. He explicitly rejected comparisons of the Ford lawyers, to the FBI’s investigation of Anita Hill’s sexual harassment allegations against then-nominee Clarence Thomas in 1991, to say that Hill’s accusations were not open to the public, when the FBI carried out a couple of days of background interviews, the validity check before forwarding to the White house.
Once Hill’s allegations to the public, Grassley wrote that the legal Committee did not require additional FBI assistance.
“We are in the same position, which the Committee were Professor Hill’s accusations leaked,” Grassley said. “After the leak, that we do not ask the FBI to conduct an investigation. Instead, we will hear and evaluate the testimony was given, that on our own.”
For their part, Hill PBS ” “NewsHour tells” on Wednesday that the judiciary Committee could not be trusted to the action of the allegations against Kavanaugh right, “because I doubt you are qualified to conduct an investigation, in a neutral fashion.”

Fox News has learned from a source close to Sen. Susan Collins, a moderate as a potential key swing vote in the Kavanaugh confirmation that she had called to learn of the FBI Deputy Director David Bowdich on Wednesday to find out more about the FBI’s potential role in the procedure as part of their “due diligence.”
Meanwhile, the Missouri democratic sen. Claire McCaskill tweeted Wednesday that she would not vote for Kavanaugh. In your message, you wrote, explicitly, that his legislation and of the ideology, and not the allegations of Ford, were the reason for their decision. McCaskill is locked in a tight re-election race in a red state, the Trump won handily in 2016.
