The number of government requests to Twitter in the past half year has risen.

This is evident from new data shared by Twitter.

Between 1 January and 30 June 2016 were 5.676 dataverzoeken done with Twitter. That is an increase of 2.1 percent compared to the previous half year.

There was asked for dates of 13.152 Twitter accounts. That is 8 percent more than in the half a year earlier.

The largest number of dataverzoeken comes from the United States, where 2.520 dataverzoeken were submitted. The FBI, U.s. secret service and an Officer of Justice and New York are at the top of the list.

In the Netherlands there were 8 dataverzoeken done, about 11 accounts. There was 6 times, or Dutch data from Twitter erased could be, what two times was granted.
