Gouden Carolus with whiskey falls in the prices at the Belgian beer festival

The Mechelen brewery het Anker’s Gouden Carolus Cuvee of the Emperor Whisky Infused the consumententrofee 2018 won on the zythos promotes Beer festival. That is a gathering of beer lovers in Leuven, which attracts 13,000 visitors to descend. It is the second time in a row that the same beer as the grand prize fetches.

The Gouden Carolus Cuvee of the Emperor Whisky Infused is a combination of two products that The Anchor itself produces: Gouden Carolus Single Malt Whisky, and Gouden Carolus Cuvee of the Emperor of beer. This results in a powerful and resounding beer with subtle traces of vanilla, oak and chocolate. “We have the perfect balance between the two products, and are particularly proud of. This price we can greatly appreciate, it is a confirmation that we are doing a good job and that our vision for granted, ” says Charles Leclef of brouwerij het Anker.

Also the chairman of the federation of Belgian Brewers, Jean-Louis Van de Perre, sees a change in the world of Belgian beer brewers. “We have our conditions for membership adjusted, now it is no longer necessary to have five years in a brewery and at least 3,000 hectolitres per year to produce,” he says. “Our beer culture was recognized by Unesco, it is a great responsibility to them to continue to develop and protect,” he concluded.
