House Republicans warned the Minister of defense of Jim Mattis that on Wednesday advocacy groups in the United States, lawsuits against the Pentagon of the environment may unknowingly help, America is the enemy, especially in China.
A letter to the members of the House Committee on Natural Resources, warned that “while some lawsuits represent genuine and legitimate concerns about the impact of Federal actions on the environment, the other may be filed in bad faith, to stop, limit, delay, or additional cost on US military activities.”
Chairman Rob Bishop, R-Utah, and the Subcommittee on oversight and investigations, Chairman Bruce Westerman, R-Ark., pointed specifically to U.S. engagement in the Asia-Pacific region, where the military has, in view of the complaints dating back decades, and claims of environmental violations.
You wrote that the Navy was restricted in testing and training due to legal disputes, citing claims that the focus on led by the Natural Resources Defense Council, as the marine life are affected by the Navy’s use of active sonar and underwater explosives.
“Active sonar is the most effective means for the detection of ultra-quiet diesel submarines deployed by foreign navies, such as China’s People’s Liberation Army Navy,” the letter noted.

The letter also cited court proceedings by Earthjustice, the disabled, live-fire exercises in Hawaii and a fight from environmental groups, that the relocation of the U.S. Marine Corps Air Station in Okinawa, Japan, in a less densely populated area.
The legislator claims that for America’s enemies, “such processes can be used, an inexpensive tool or a military windfall to the reduction of the U.S. defense capability.”

“Accordingly, environmental groups, these processes may be conscious or vulnerable to unwittingly serve as a Deputy to our foreign opponents,” the letter States, warning that such groups “could lead to, such as self -, self-sufficient, and eternal ‘launch and forget” weapons.”

The Committee requested that the Pentagon provide the relevant information and documents, including those that identify the foreign company, use US-American groups as “proxies” in the lawsuit against the Pentagon.
The letter comes after the Committee of the red flags raised about the National Resources Defense Council’s advocacy work, suggesting it is the risk, forced by China — suggesting it may even need to register as a foreign agent. The group responded in a statement, the defense of “American values.”
