Goosen and Kamminga off in semi-final world cup
Mathys Goosen is Sunday off in the semi-finals of the 50 metres butterfly at the world CHAMPIONSHIPS in Budapest. Also Arno Kamminga knew the final showdown in the 100 metres breaststroke.
The 21-year-old Goosen took 23,52 the twelfth time. This was his own English record, that he Sunday morning during the series down. Only the best eight swimmers have qualified for the final showdown.
Sunday was the Dutch record in the 50 metres butterfly in the name of Joeri Verlinden. He swam in 2014 23,63.
The American Caeleb Remel Dressel placed himself in 22,76 first for the final. He remained in the Ukrainian Andrii Govorov one hundredth of a seconds for.
Kamminga took 59,76 the thirteenth time in the semi-finals of the 100 metres breaststroke. Thus, he was faster than in the morning in the series (59,95), but it was not enough for a place in the final.
The Brit Adam Peaty took 57,75 the fastest time in the semi-finals. He was almost a second faster than the number two, the American Kevin Cordes (58,64).
