Google has the Play Store developer policies, and the different app categories have been recently prohibited.

For starters, Google has been booted from cryptocurrency miners. This was not surprising, because Google banned crypto mining extensions from the Chrome Web Store earlier this year.

“The key to the preservation of a healthy extensions ecosystem is to keep the platform open and flexibel…De vast majority of the mining extensions that are submitted for review did not meet our single goal, policy or ‘wrong’, ‘ Google product manager James Wagner told Wired in April.

The same logic is likely to apply also for Android-apps — shady software that power the phones to my cryptocurrency has permanently damaged Android devices in the past.

Apple was the first to ban crypto-mining apps from the App Store back in June.

In addition, applications that “to appeal to children, but contain adult themes” are not allowed in the Google Play Store. For example, an inappropriate apps with Disney-figures are a no-no, following YouTube infamous Elsagate.

Something that looks like child pornography is, as expected, is already prohibited. “Apps which contain content that sexualizes minors will be subject to immediate removal from the Shop,” the policy reads.

Next on the chopping block are apps that “facilitate the sale of explosives, firearms, ammunition, or firearms accessories.” This includes instructing people about how to make restricted firearms, or how to convert a firearm to an automatic weapon.

Finally, Google has banned applications which are mainly advertising, or who try to impersonate a person or organization.
