Google has the domain name Duck.com transferred to competitor DuckDuckGo. The domain links to the Google search engine, but DuckDuckGo.
Gabriel Weinberg, ceo of DuckDuckGo, confirmed the transfer of the domain name to a user of NamePros, a forum about the market of domain names.
Google got the domain name Duck.com in 2010 in the hands of the acquisition of the company On2, which previously operated under the name the Duck Corporation.
DuckDuckGo positions itself as a privacyvriendelijk alternative to Google. Director Weinberg says in his statement why not Google the domain name to his company has transferred. It is also not known whether DuckDuckGo for the name has been paid.
