Authorities in Louisiana booked a man on hate crime charges after he told a woman to go back to Mexico” and attacked her parents.
A south Louisiana man has been booked on hate crime charges after police say he told the woman in a shop to go back to Mexico” and then attacked her parents.
Gonzales Police said the 60-year-old Robert Ray of Donaldsonville approached with the 19-year-old woman and made the comment to save on Friday.
When her mother, Salome Martinez, told Ray the response was: “not a nice thing to say,” the police said, Ray then pushed her to the ground. Police say Ray was also the wife of the father of Alfredo Buitureira, with his fist and a boot as Buitureira intervention.
The police says Ray has also booked with two counts of simple battery and criminal damage to property. He was jailed and it is unclear when the bail is set, or if Ray has a lawyer.
