Actor Glen Powell has reportedly joined the cast of “Top Gun: Maverick.”

Glen Powell is just that rare second chance to make a dream project.
The 29-year-old actor is tapped to join Tom Cruise in “Top Gun” sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The decision comes a month after he was passed over for a prominent role in the film, which is eventually going to Miles Teller.
The role that hot twist was geese his son (played by Anthony Edwards in the original). As fans know, All perished, providing the film much of its dramatic heft. Everyone, of Nicholas Hoult, Dylan O’brien was auditioned for the role before it was given to the Counter.

But, then, at least, Powell was able to find a way to stand out in the talented crowd. When it became known that the Counter would act out of the Goose, the son of john Powell took to Twitter to share a nice comment, hinting at his love for the franchise, and the stars.
“I’m taking all the Tom Cruise posters in my bedroom,” he wrote, alongside a retweet of the news. “Maybe, I’ll leave it at that. Two for symmetry. Okay, the posters stay.”

There is no telling to what have him in this new role, the details of which are not available, but enthusiasm definitely still something in the audition process.
This casting news comes almost a week after it was announced that Jennifer Connelly had also been cast in the film. It was confirmed by Cruise during the walk on the red carpet for “Mission: Impossible ” fall-out” in Washington, D. C.
“Look, she is a great actress, of course. …If you see the film, you will see why she is perfect for it,” the 56-year-old actor told ET. “She has such a very talented, very vivid, and, you know, we see you but in a good cast. Going to be a lot of fun.”

The sequel, titled “Top Gun: Maverick,” address modern dog fights amongst fighter jets as drones becoming more and more common in warfare. Ego’s flaring between hotshot pilots will also likely be involved.
And Cruise Maverick is not the only character from the 1986 classic to return for another film. Val Kilmer has signed on to breathe new life into Tom “Iceman” Kazansky, Maverick’s main rival in the air.
