BERLIN (Reuters) – The German economy ministry said on Friday in a second-European-battery-cell manufacturing consortium was discussed and preliminary agreements were expected in the autumn.
A hospital spokeswoman declined to give the names of the prospective companies will also take part, but added that German companies are playing an important role in the production of the consortia.
The German Economy Minister, Peter Altmaier, said in June that he expects that eventually, most likely with three battery cell groups.
To the German business daily Handelsblatt reported earlier on Friday that Germany had agreed in principle to eight different European countries and with a second consortium for the manufacture and recycling of batteries for cars, with an indication of Altmaier.
