‘German politicians again target hackaanvallen of foreign power’
Senior members of German political parties over the course of last summer has become the target of hackaanvallen. Safety experts of the German federal government fear that there is a foreign power behind the attack.
Politicians and employees of various fractions in the German Bundestag and in the federal state parliaments received e-mails that purportedly came from the NATO. In the e-mails was information about the earthquake in Italy or the military couppoging in Turkey offered.
If the intended victims on a link in the e-mail clicked on, their computer is infected with spyware. That writes the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung on Tuesday.
Cyberveiligheidsexperts of the federal German government fear that there is a strange power behind it. Any information obtained from the attack would be possible, the German parliamentary elections in autumn of next year to seek to influence.
The attack is reminiscent of an earlier weiter on members of the German Bundestag. In 2015, several members of parliament e-mails that are apparently from someone at the United Nations were derived and information about the war in Ukraine offered.
The hackers knew that way passwords can be intercepted and were able to gain access to the network in the German parliament. At the time, was suspected that Russia was behind it. Afterwards, the whole computer system of the parliament is renewed.
Also the Democratic y in the United States was prior to an election being hacked. The FBI suspects that Russia’s behind it and that that with the leakage of captured information wants to exercise influence on the presidential elections there in november of this year.
