The German football association DFB will only have a few days to make a decision about the future of national coach Joachim Löw.
That reports the German news agency DPA.
‘Die Mannschaft’ lost Wednesday its third match in world cup group F with a 2-0 South Korea and is turned off. Löw was after the world cup exit, together with the DFB president Reinhard Grindel, but a decision on the national coach should adjust the next few days are to be expected.
“I have yesterday evening with Jogi Löw spoken”, quoting the Sport Bild Grindel. ‘We have agreed to meet the next day to discuss how to proceed.’
“We should be there in all calmness to think about what to do, there is first a night of sleep’, responded Löw Wednesday itself after the shutdown. ‘Of course, do I need to take responsibility for this debacle. Never did I dare to think that we are there against South Korea.”
Germany began the tournament with a 1-0 defeat against Mexico, but seemed to be against Sweden, with the winning goal by Toni Duckweed in the extra time (2-1), sheet to go and save. Against South Korea (2-0 loss) was, however, sobering. Sweden and Mexico punches in the pool.
The Mannschaft, which in the early afternoon (at 13: 20 hours) back in Germany, will arrive, will receive Thursday the whole national press about him.
“No words,” headlined Bild on its front page on Friday, accompanied by a photo of a grief-stricken Toni Duckweed. The title of the popular German newspaper is dubbelzinning, because four years ago, after the 7-1 victory of the Mannschaft against Brazil at the world cup in 2014, headlined the newspaper with the same title. Toni Duckweed was cheering among the words.
Away speaks to Bild about ‘the shame of Kazan’. ‘The nightmare has become a reality. The shattered Mannschaft returns after ten days back from Russia.’
Michael Ballack, former captain of the Mannschaft, could the switch-off do not contain. ‘You can lose to a stronger team, but not against such a weak opponent.’
Another former captain and world champion – Lothar Matthäus spoke about a ‘lack of unity’ and an ‘absence of the will to push’. “The team showed volgevreten.’
Kicker emphasises the collective failure of the team. ‘There was no real team in Russia. The way the team, without idea, and without a solution, played against Mexico (a 1-0 defeat) and South Korea (2-0 defeat) was terrifying.’
Many other newspapers are questioning themselves in the future of national coach Joachim Löw. His departure would be ‘a new beginning’, is suggested. “The shutdown even before the real party starts, it would be portable, if the strategists of the German football association the current weaknesses and acknowledge there are consequences to give’, the Frankfurt Allgemeine Zeitung.
Bild confirms that the bond in the coming days will consult with Löw and then will decide about the future. In addition to Löw was especially playmaker Mesut Özil is endorsed. Jens Maier, a extreemrechtste politician, declared openly: ‘Without Özil we had gewonnnen.’
