Georgian ex-president Saakashvili get Ukrainian passport back

Mikheil Saakashvili, the former president of Georgia, will get the Ukrainian citizenship back. The new president Volodymyr Zelensky has made that decision.

Saakashvili got his passport lost after a political clash with Zelensky’s predecessor, Petro Poroshenko. Since then, he was stateloos, but determined to get to Kiev to return to the country of its corrupt elite to help.

Saakashvili, in his native Georgia in absentia for abuse of power, is married to a Dutch woman and has a residence permit in the Netherlands.

The politically inexperienced ex-comedian Zelensky was the Ukrainian election campaign with the promise in the first place an end to the corruption that is under Poroshenko, a wealthy businessman, without prejudice to them. It resulted in a resounding victory.
