Georgia sheriff’s deputy accused of stalking woman, daughter

CONYERS, Georgia. – A sheriff’s deputy near Atlanta has been accused of stalking a woman and her daughter.

News outlets report Rockdale County Sheriff’s Deputy James Campbell was arrested and accused of stalking.

WXIA-TV reports Campbell’s first appearance was Sunday. Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Yolande Lovingood-Moore says Campbell is in prison, and was released on his own recognizance. Lovingood-Moore says that the status of Campbell’s work is not changed.

Lovingood-Moore says the sheriff’s office received the complaint 19 and about a week later, there was sufficient evidence for the issuance of an arrest warrant.

WSB-TV quotes of the warrants to say that the woman told the authorities that the 56-year-old Campbell went to her home to her bother after she texted him not to contact her or her daughter.

It is unclear if Campbell has an attorney.
