Georgia officer fired in the midst of a nearly year-old allegations of rape

ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Georgia is a police officer accused of raping a woman is dismissed.

Thirty-three-year-old Bobby Ransom was released from the Fulton County Police Department on Feb. 15, nearly a year the attack was reported. WSB-TV quotes a police report that says Ransom, forced his way into a woman’s apartment in Alpharetta and then raped her.

Fulton County officials have refused to WSB-TV’s ask why the Ransom was dismissed.

A statement from Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard says the case is still under investigation, but it is intended to close in the next two months.
