EATONTON, Georgia. – One of the two Georgia prisoners accused of the killing of two security guards last year admitted in a recorded interview that he shot the guards.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the recording of Ricky Dubose being interviewed by law enforcement after his arrest was played in court Wednesday.
Dubose and Donnie Rowe is accused of the shooting of Sgt. Christopher, Monica, and Sgt. Curtis Billue with the guards’ guns while escaping from a prison transfer bus southeast of Atlanta last June. They were arrested in Tennessee a few days later.
Both men face the death penalty.
The newspaper reported that Dubose told authorities the escape was not planned, but that he took a chance. He also said Rowe does not want to kill everyone.
