George Michael ‘ s death is considered ‘not convincing’ after the autopsy


George Michael’s official cause of death is still unknown.

A post-mortem examination of the singer of the cause of death was found to be “not convincing”, according to a statement released by Thames Valley Police on Friday.

“The cause of death is unclear and further investigation will now be carried out,” the statement read, indicating that the research took place on Thursday. “The results of these tests are likely to be known for a number of weeks.”

“Thames Valley Police will prepare a file for the Oxfordshire Coroner. Mr Michael’s death is still being treated as unexplained but not suspicious,” the statement concluded.

The GRAMMY award-winning singer died in his sleep at his home in London, England, on Dec. 25. In a statement shortly after his death, his manager, Michael Lippman, said he believed that the singer was suffering from heart failure.

“It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George died quietly at home during the Christmas period,” his representative told ET. “The family would ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult and emotional time. There are no further comments at this time.”
