George and Amal Clooney take Iraqi refugee in the house
George and Amal Clooney have a refugee at home. The man from Iraq is to be found in a house that the couple has in the American city of Augusta, Kentucky.
That reveals George Clooney opposite The Hollywood Reporter.
“He was in a bus to Mosul when ISIS, the two drivers doodschoot,” says the actor.
The man managed to escape and fled to the United States. “He came by all veiligheidschecks and once that happened, we wanted him to be pleased to support,” says the actor, who also took care that the man teaching could get.
The refugee is currently studying at the University of Chicago.
Clooney is known for his commitment to charity. Last month donated, he and his wife Amal have a million dollars to an organization that advocates for equal treatment in the United States.
