George and Amal Clooney have donated $100K to help people who are children of migrants who are separated from their families.
George and Amal Clooney are doing what they can to help the children of migrants who are separated from their families.
After the welcome of the children, the twins, Ella and Alexander, the couple discussed how their children would react when hearing about what is happening on the Mexico-U.S. border.
“At some point in the future of our children will ask us: ‘Is it true, has our country really take the babies from their parents and put them in detention centres?’ And if the answer is yes, they will ask us what we did about it. What we were saying. Where we stood,” the Clooneys told People. “We can not change board policy, but we can help defend the victims.
“Today, the Clooney Foundation for Justice will donate $100,000 to the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights,” she added.
The couple’s donation is just the latest philanthropic action they have taken in the past few months. In February, they donated $500,000 to the Park of the pupils, DC, march.
