Genie Bouchard is back.
The Canadian tennis superstar, made her second consecutive appearance for Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit issue for 2018. And the 23-year-old insisted to pose for the racy snapshots was a piece of cake.
“It absolutely was easier,” Bouchard told the magazine. “I was much less nervous this time around. I felt I had the experience of my first SI shoot which helped me for this second.”
Still, Bouchard admitted that wearing nothing more than a teeny bikini is not always so easy.
“At the beginning of the shoot, it is always difficult – wearing almost nothing definitely makes you self-conscious,” Bouchard admitted. “But the photographer was great, he was so nice and supportive he is to me immediately. I realized that I was there for a reason, and this gave me the confidence to be free and to also have fun during the shoot!”
Bouchard, who left little to the imagination, she said, she had the full support of family, friends and fans, just like the first time when she bared almost all for the magazine.
“I had not told who I was going to be in the SI Swimsuit – literally three people knew I was doing the shoot – so the first reaction of my friends and family was just a complete shock!” she reflected. “They had no idea! Everyone was so helpful and thought that the photos looked great. And proud that I was able to crossover and achieve something as big as this one outside of the tennis world.
“If my friends – they went completely crazy. They had never seen me in a shoot like this before so I think they are really happy.”
Back in 2017, Bouchard told Fox News she felt uncomfortable when it came time for her close-up.
“My first reaction was just shy because it was my first time I did a shoot like this,” said Bouchard. “It was also the first time I did a topless shoot. But I have it now so it’s all good!”
So my bikini had a zip…
Bouchard added, “I was awake for 5 hours and when I got to the assembly to put on the bikini, the stylist said,” No, take your top off. The first shot goes topless. At 7 pm I have no top on for the first shot. I kept thinking, ‘What have I got myself into?!’ But at the end of the day, I have nothing more. I was changing in front of people. They have seen it all!”
