LEGISLATOR TWEET AFTER PHYSICIST STEPHEN HAWKING’S DEATH DRAWS CRITICISM
“Terrible tweet. You define, by Stephen Hawking, through his disability, something he spent his whole life [show] was completely wrong,” one person tweeted.
“For the love of the dog and all holy things, please do not describe Stephen Hawking as having overcome his handicap, or disability as the inability, or a number of boring, ableist tropes that take away from what a total bada–, he was, and how the world was better for him,” a social media user wrote.
“So what are we not going to do is talk about Stephen Hawking’s disability as if it were a drama. Because that was not the case. Disabilities are tragedies. Disabled people can disappear,” another person wrote.

“I think you’re fantastic Gal but this tweet is very ableist. His physical limitations did not deter him from changing the world. People with disabilities are not death to wish to be free from their challenges. We want to be valued for what we can do, not pitied, because we can’t,” one person tweeted.
Despite the opposition, some people stuck for Gadot and said that her tweet was blown out of proportion.
“Gal Gadot your tweet about Stephen Hawking’s death is misunderstood,” one person wrote.
“Why is the criticism? I doubt that Stephen Hawking was pleased with the have of AS. He had physical limitations. That much is clear. Nevertheless, he led a brilliant life anyway. That is all what I see here. I don’t even know who Gal Gadot is but the criticism of her is totally baffling,” a social media user tweeted.
Gadot has not immediately responded to the criticism.
