Frings starts at Darmstadt to first job as head coach
Darmstadt 98 have Torsten Frings on Tuesday appointed as head coach. The 40-year-old former international has signed until mid-2018 with the Bundesliga club.
Frings is the successor of Norbert Meier, who, because of the poor results in the beginning of december was dismissed at the hekkensluiter. Frings should be there in the second half of the season to ensure that Darmstadt is not degraded.
In the first half of the season grabbed Darmstadt just eight points in sixteen games. The club, which is busy with the second year ever in the Bundesliga, won for the last time on 22 October.
Darmstadt is for Frings his first job as head coach, after the 79-times German international in the last years assistant coach at Werder Bremen. “I am happy that I have the confidence of Darmstadt get,” said Frings on Tuesday in his presentation. “It is a beautiful challenge.”

World cup final
