Frenchman’s record in 49 days to the world of sailing
The Frenchman Thomas Coville has Sunday set a new world record established. He has one in 49 days around the world sailed.
That report French media.
The record stood in the name of fellow-countryman Francis Joyon; this explained, in 2012, the same journey in 57 days.
It was expected that the 48-year-old Coville the finish line, the imaginary line between Brittany and Cape Lizard in England, in the night of Sunday to Monday would achieve. But thanks to the favourable wind, he knew even that expectation is yet to surpass.
Coville has, according to French media anyway, had the good fortune of favorable winds on its journey. Additionally, his boat, the Sobedo, the whole trip, no major defects.
Connoisseurs speak of “an impossible challenge” for other sailors to this record in the near future to break.
