French-Tunisian fashion designer Azzedine Alaïa died

The French-Tunisian fashion designer Azzedine Alaïa is at the age of 77 died.


That is heard in the French sector federation for the mode, a message of the newspaper, Le Point confirms.

Azzedine Alaïa broke through in the eighties and is known for its timeless dresses that the female body, and accentuate. He was an atypical personality in Paris. So he planed his fashion shows outside of the hectic Fashion weeks and he did that without too much spectacle.

In 1939 in Tunisia, born in Paris, living couturier Azzedine Alaïa was one of the most important and admired figures in the world of fashion. During his studies in sculpture, he became fascinated by fashion, and he reproduced his favorite designers Madeleine Vionnet and Balenciaga.

In 1957 he set up in Paris, his first steps as a designer. After five days at Dior, he leaves for two seasons at Guy Laroche. Then he goes to Thierry Mugler in the late ’70s. In 1980 he launched his first collection with the Alaïa label. After the show is the Belgian trendspotter Brigitte Jeurissen excited her first order for her case in Hasselt. In 1988, he has boutiques in Beverly Hills, New York and Paris.
