‘Free Tommy Robinson’: Trump Jr, European populists slam UK over the jailing of right-wing activist

Tommy Robinson, pictured here in 2013, was in jail Friday.

The arrest and jailing of the British extreme-right activist Tommy Robinson for the cover of a child-care study, the exit led to an outpouring of anger from conservative politicians in the United States and Europe-with Donald Trump Jr cited it as a reason “for the original UK EU.”

Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Lennon, was arrested Friday outside a court in Leeds for the rotary men, who is accused of work, which is part of a gang that groomed children. Great Britain was shaken by an epidemic of child-sex scandals, perpetuated by gangs of predominantly Muslim men.

Fox News reported on Friday that he was imprisoned for 13 months for contempt of court, but the British media were not initially able to a report on the conviction by a reporting ban slapped on the case by the judge. This prohibition was Tuesday lifted after complaints from the media.

Robinson, the former leader of the English defence League, known for his harsh criticism of Islam, allegedly pleaded guilty to the violation of the terms and conditions of the previously suspended sentence starting in 2017, when he reported on a similar case.

Robinson is a polarizing figure in the British supporters, he speaks out against the political correctness and the growing influence of Islamic extremism, while the opponents claim he is a racist who Stokes fear and division, and you note that he has a record.

An anti-terrorism police official said that Robinson’s was partially responsible for the radicalization of a man, of a terrorist attack on a mosque in the past year.

The details of the case, Robinson was the reporting of the last week are always the ban is still blocked by a reporting. Therefore, many of the British media reported only that he was arrested outside of a court building, but gave no details about the case itself. But Robinson’s supporters say he has been repeatedly published statements in the local media.

Robinson’s jailing has typed in a long narrative, under the conservatives in the UK and Europe that the authorities clamp down quickly on a bar who’s the attention to the crime in connection with the Islam, while you are lax about the perpetrators of these crimes.

Consequently, when the news leaked over the weekend, conservative figures reacted with anger. To demonstrate on Saturday, the crowds outside Downing Street descended, for Robinson’s release.

The other concern for Robinson, which indicates that his profile as an Islam critic, he was a target in prison. UK Independence y leader Gerard Batten said that one of the party, the members of the House of Lords, wrote to interior Minister Sajid Javid threatens a private law enforcement as “accessories, or for misconduct in a public office.”

In Europe, reaction was also strong, particularly among those who have rejected what they see as the Islamization of the continent.
