France picks up a 16-year-old terreurverdachte for ‘imminent’ attack

Anti-terreureenheden in the southern cities of Montpellier and Marseillan arrested Friday, four people, including a girl of 16, who are suspected of an “imminent” terrorist attack to prepare for Islamic State (IS).

The arrests are “stopped a plan in the short term, an attack to carry out on French territory,” said minister Bruno Le Roux (Internal Affairs) in a statement, writes AFP.

Politiebronnen close to the investigation told the French news agency that the four were arrested after they acetone bought. That is a highly flammable liquid, which can be used to make bombs.

The girl was 16, according to the sources in possession of a video in which she faithfully spoke to. Also they would via social media, have planned to travel to Syria. The other suspects are men of 20, 26 and 33 years old. The 20-year-old was already followed by the French security services.
