Fourth Sylvia Kristel Award goes to Romy Louise Lauwers
Actress Romy Louise Lauwers, who played the role of Panda plays in the film life is vurrukkulluk which is currently being made, wins this year the Sylvia Kristel Award. The price is 16 september for the fourth time awarded at the festival Film by the Sea in Vlissingen.
The prize is awarded annually to someone who the thought of Sylvia Kristel (1952-2012) as a cultural phenomenon does live on. According to the jury, the 22-year-old Lauwers is an exceptional young talent, as She is in possession of an exceptional personality. “She knows how to combine beauty with style and brain power and agility, and like Sylvia cross-border work.”
The prize is a cash prize of 10,000 euros, in order to encourage the talent. The first prize-winner Sylvia Hoeks let recently know the amount to be used for a castingreis to Los Angeles. Hoeks is to be seen later this year alongside Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling in the movie Blade Runner, 2049.
Life is vurrukkulluk is the filming of the more than fifty year-old book by Remco Campert, which is about two friends who are in love with the same girl (played by Lauwers). The first images of the film will be screened at Film by the Sea.
