Jaguar EBRC (Thales)
Fully loaded Jaguar conjures up images of a luxurious interior and sporty cars with tight lines … however, a 25 ton, a whole different breed of ‘Jaguar’ is equipped with an array of weapon options.
The harness remains vague, but it is expected that more than 20 pounds of exploding TNT will not stop with this new Jaguar EBRC reconnaissance vehicle. It is confirmed that the system will protect against a wide range of threats, including nuclear, chemical and biological weapons.
This tank killer is a gun that can hit targets with armor, behind a double-layered concrete and more. Jaguar s rocket launchers lob anti-tank missiles that demolish the enemy tanks. The remote-controlled machine gun will be hitting threats up to about 13,000 meters away.
Designed for reconnaissance and fighting behind the enemy lines while collecting intelligence, it is loaded with both serious armor, hard-hitting weapons, advanced optical technology, three periscopes, and much, much more. A six-wheel drive vehicle, Jaguar can handle recon missions in rough terrain and in hard to reach places.
About 24 meters long, 11 meters high and 10 meters wide, the vehicle can carry three personnel: a commander, a driver and a gunner.

This Jaguar has not much in common with the iconic Jaguar sports cars – except, perhaps, that they are both air-conditioned.
Jaguar EBRC (Nexter, Renault Trucks Defense, Thales)
A team including Nexter, Renault Trucks Defense and Thales have developed for Jaguar, as part of the French Army to modernize the program. The allied armies were given a chance to get close to the new vehicle for the first time last week, where the prototypes were unveiled at the Eurosatory.
Here is what he has revealed about this exciting new combat vehicle.
Jaguar has a two-man turret armed with a 40mm CTC cannon that can fire a wide range of options, including airburst, armor piercing and HE (High Explosive) ammunition to defeat a large spectrum of threats. The fully stabilized tower will allow forces to fire accurately while on the move.
To destroy light armored vehicles with RHA (Rolled Homogenous Armor) for example, the crew could use APFSDS-T (Armor-Piercing Fin-Stabilized discarding Sabot – Tracer), are able to penetrate enemy infantry fighting vehicles.

Urban terrain will certainly continue to play a role in future conflicts. For reinforced concrete smashing, the General Purpose Round Point Detonating – Tracer (GPR-PD-T) is another option that is available with the Jaguar gun.
If you are under fire from enemy forces behind a wall or vehicle, then the crew could make use of a General Round Airburst – Tracer (GPR-AB-T). This High Explosive ammunition is designed for maximum fragmentation and will be a shell HE airburst explosion above the target to reach the enemy troops. It is also useful if rapid reduction is required for a large area.
The combat vehicles to threats from above. With Jaguar’s cannon another option is the A3-T, Anti-Aerial Airburst-Tracer, which unleashes 200 tungsten pellets. The crew could use against the enemy threats such as drones, helicopters and low flying aircraft.

Machine Gun and Smoke Grenades
Mounted on the top of the tower there is a remote-controlled 7.62 mm machine gun that can be fired by the commander.
There are also four smoke grenade launchers mounted at the front on each side of the tower and on the back there are two more. This can be of vital importance for a rapid healing of the Jaguar, and make it difficult for the enemy to locate and fire at it effectively, for example.

Jaguar is also equipped with weapons, such as the crash of systems that deliver attacks invisible to the eye, but with a powerful impact.
The right side of the tower is equipped with two launchers for MBDA MMPs (Missile Moyenne Portée) – that the medium-range missiles in English.
The MMP missile is a fire-and-forget, so it will lock on a target before launch and automatically guide itself to the target. These missiles can unleash devastating strikes as far away as 13,000 feet.
Even in bad weather, in the night, conditions or other issues, such as smoke which may affect visibility, these missiles are so smart they will still identify the target itself, and the strike accurately.
Exact protection levels on the Jaguar remain confidential.
However, Jaguar’s brother in the French Army Scorpion program has an armor level of the NATO STANAG 45694, so it is expected that the Jaguar will have that also. This means Jaguar armor protects the crew against the range of small arms fire and 155mm artillery shell shrapnel.

Mines and ieds remains a serious threat to the ground troops. The crew inside would also be protected against the detonation of Explosives loaded with about 22 pounds of TNT.
Jaguar will probably adjustable harness that will allow them to increase or decrease as needed for the mission and the environment. Since armor adds weight, and weight can decrease speed, this will be a great advantage.
The safety of the crew will be further enhanced by the fire-suppression tech, and a CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) protection of the system.

For exploration missions, the crew can take advantage of a wide range of advanced technology.
To sea the enemy at a distance whether it is day or night, Jaguar has a PASEO EO/IR-eye system.

Enemy lasers are detected, and the crew immediately alerted to the threat, by the two Thales Antares 360 sensors.
When under enemy fire, the Metravib Pilar V acoustic detection system to locate the position of shooters, even if they are hidden.
The Jaguar is also equipped with a missile-detection system.
The driver can look out through three different periscopes to sea while safely inside the armored vehicle.
For night missions, the driver can switch the central periscope for IR vision. There are also multiple cameras mounted around the vehicle.
Designed to excel in off-road riding, this is not just a 4×4, it is a six-wheel drive with front and rear axle steering, which helps to put into very tight spaces.

Even if a tire blows, the Jaguar is still due to the Hutchinson run-flat-tire-system.
The 25-ton Jaguar EBRC has a 500 hp Volvo diesel engine, 7-speed transmission and can reach speeds of 55 miles per hour.
What is the following?
The Jaguar is an important part of the French Army $12 billion Scorpion modernisation of the program, and replace a number of vehicles including the ERC 90 Sagaie.
After the big reveal at Eurosatory last week, the prototypes are now on the road for more testing by the French Army with 248 Jaguars expected to start joining them in 2020.
