Former UFC fighter’s arrest for aggravated assault, battery

ALBUQUERQUE, N. M. – A former UFC fighter who has trouble with the law is arrested again.

Court records show Cody East was arrested Sunday in Albuquerque for 4 hours on the counts of false imprisonment and aggravated battery against a household member. He is also facing the charges of aggravated assault against a household member.

Details of the arrest are unclear. A spokesman for the Bernalillo Country Sheriff’s office did not immediately respond to an e-mail.

Eastern signed with the UFC earlier this year, despite the fact sentenced to three years in prison in 2008 after pleading no contest to three child abuse charges.

He was released by the UFC in October after losing two fights.

The 28-year-old was ordered held on a $30,000 cash surety bond. It was not known if East had a lawyer.
