A Fort Worth man to spend the rest of his life behind bars for raping a 74-year-old patient, who is unable to move or speak, in a nursing home last year.
Anthony Mamboleo Nyakeo, 53, was convicted Wednesday of aggravated sexual assault of an elderly person or a person with a disability, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.
Nyakeo could have been sentenced to a period of probation but the jury on Thursday, on the part of the prosecutor’s office and sentenced him to life and two terms in the county jail.
Anthony Nyakeo was a Kenyan immigrant and a former health care provider of a Texas nursing home.

Nyakeo worked in a nursing home in Grapevine, Texas, about 25 miles northeast of Fort Worth.

In January of 2018, having been accused of Nyakeo, a Kenyan immigrant to the U.S., the rape of the old woman, after DNA linked him to the attack, the Star-Telegram reported.
During the trial, Nyakeo testified that someone must have planted his DNA on a used condom in the victim’s body.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, died last year from Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 75.
