LOS ANGELES – A body found Tuesday in a backyard is supposed to be that of a former reality TV-show candidate who disappeared at the weekend after attending a birthday party at a California beer hall.
Police and coroner’s officials searched a house in the unincorporated Lennox, near Los Angeles International Airport, after an introduction of Lisa Marie Naegle was arrested, and gave her body was there, police said.
“We can confirm that a body which, we believe, is Lisa Marie was found in a shallow grave in the suspect’s home,” police spokesman Sal Ramirez said Tuesday night. “The detectives strongly believe for her.”
A motive for, and the cause of her death was not immediately made known.
Jackie Jerome Rogers, 34, was on Tuesday arrested on suspicion of murder after he was questioned about her disappearance. It was not immediately clear whether he had a lawyer.
Naegle, 36, a nurse, who lived in the San Pedro, Los Angeles, was a losing participant in the show “Bridalplasty” in 2010. They fought for a dream wedding and plastic surgery.
She taught nursing classes at West Los Angeles College, and Rogers was one of her students, according to the Daily Breeze of Torrance.
Naegle had gone to a birthday party on Saturday night at the Alpine Village, a beer hall and restaurant in Torrance. Naegle the man, Derek Harryman, said he texted her around 2 pm and Sunday to see where she was.
“Within a minute or two, she called me,” Harryman told the Daily Breeze. “They sounded really, really drunk. She said: “I’m going to eat and then I’m home.’ “
They never arrived and did not come to learn.
Harryman and Naegle sister filed a missing person report and asked for help on social media to find her.
The family said that they obtained the photos show Naegle leaving the beer hall, with Rogers and video that showed in his sport utility vehicle.
“We went and we watched the movie and she left with him,” her brother, Rafael Chavez, told the newspaper. “He told everyone that he without her.”
“We begged and begged that he would come to our house to give us information about what time, where things were, and when he left her, but while he spoke to us and tells us his story, there are several different times that he said that he is absolutely not to go home with her, or not to take her home,” Naegle’s sister Danielle Naegle-Kaimona, told KABC-TV.
After being confronted with information that Naegle was seen in his car, Rogers changed his story to say that Naegle had gotten in his car, but then I got out moments later, the family said.
They then contacted the police.
