A former NASA engineer gets revenge on the pavement thieves with his invention.
A former NASA engineer took matters into his own hands after he had a package stolen from the porch of his home in California, the middle of the day, seven months ago.
Mark Rober tried to get the police involved, and even the thieves caught on camera, but he said that the authorities told him that it was not “worth their time” to check in, ” he said in a YouTube video posted on Monday.
Robert explains in the video that his “revenge bait” was an inspiration for the movie “Home Alone.” He disguised the package as an Apple HomePod Box, which will also be GPS-enabled. He would also record the theft of mobile phones.

And as soon as the thief picked up the package, a glitter bomb attached to the package.
“In the end, if they opened the package, I wanted to celebrate the choice of their profession with a cloud of glitter,” Robert said in the video clip.
He also programmed with a “fart spray” to go off on the top of the glitter, to add insult to injury.
Robert, who has helped in the design of the hardware that is used on the Mars Curiosity Rover, said it took six months to get the special package together.
