Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer says that he was slow with the make of hardware within the company.
That says Ballmer in an interview at the Code Conference in California.
“I think that sometimes I slowly realized that we new things had to do,” says Ballmer. “Such as, for example, with hardware.”
“I wish we had developed into a renowned hardwarebedrijf, because software is currently mainly in specific hardware. Under my direction, had that earlier.”
Ballmer tried in 2014 still on the hardware to focus by Nokia to take over, but this company was in 2016, and sold it again. Since then, HMD Global rights to Nokia phones.
Under CEO Satya Nadella, Microsoft focuses more and more on the production of our own hardware. At the time the company sells in the Netherlands the Surface Pro and Surface Book. In June appear the desktop Surface Studio and the Surface Laptop in the Dutch market.
