‘Force field’ tech could OUR tanks not to stop

Defense Specialist Allison Barrie has the inside scoop on amazing futuristic new technology that creates a virtually invisible, impenetrable, protective bubble around military armored vehicles.

Amazing futuristic new tech allows for a seemingly invisible, impenetrable, protective bubble around military armored vehicles enemy attempts to fire on AMERICAN tanks pretty pointless – these rounds do not hit the tank, they will explode in the air.

Think it’s almost like a tank smart enough to defend themselves. With the upgrade, tanks will automatically protect the crew and prevent the enemy rounds making contact with the harness.

In the blink of an eye, this remarkable technology to detect the enemy fire, it locates and launches a response that destroys the threat at a safe distance from the vehicle.

It is a bit like a small missile defense system to protect countries– but one that is designed to ride along with armored vehicles.

Rpg’s (Rocket Propelled Grenades) and even Anti-Tank Guided Missiles that can kill tanks are stopped in the middle of the air, exactly intercept and prevent the touching of the US military tank.

Most types of enemy fire will never reach a tank is protected with this technology. It will be the warfare forever.

The mind-blowing tech called Active Protection Systems or APS.

APS gives soldiers massively better protection, but without the addition of the weight of the extra armor and slowing down the vehicles on speed and agility.

In the short term, the iconic main battle tank M1 Abrams will be the first to be equipped with this remarkable new approach to keeping the crew safe. The M2 Bradley Infantry fighting vehicles and Strykers are also expected to receive this remarkable upgrade soon also.

Imagine the US Army can send vehicles in the battle that the enemy forces can not strike it with their weapons. Every time they try the tank automatically initiated measures to destroy the tank-killing air.

Enemy fire would be pointless. The AMERICAN Army would be even more unstoppable.

Now, two countries have already a battle-proven APS: Russia and Israel.

The american defence industry lagged behind the development of this futuristic way of foreclosure. To find a solution, the U.S. Army chose three companies to work together and to adapt their battle-tested tech for the US military vehicles. The Israeli company Rafael’s Trophy system used by the Israel Defense Forces is adapted for the Abrams and the Iron Fist of the Israeli IMI Systems for Bradley. The american company Artis Iron Curtain is in development for use on the Stryker.

The great news for Army families and soldiers, General Mark Milley recently told the Senate the Army of the plan is to eventually outfit the entire heavy force, control of all vehicles, with APS.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO STOP?

In short, APS can stop with weapons that are very destructive. Weapons that are potentially lethal to tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, even though they are protected by an armor.

The APS “shields” could protect the U.S. troops from light antitank weapons, guided missiles and rocket-propelled grenades.

Until now, not any weapon that any enemy can use would be stopped, but many of the most commonly used would be stopped before impact.

This current generation of APS is very effective at a lower velocity explosive rounds fired by enemy aircraft and ground troops.

HOW WILL IT PROTECT ABRAMS TANKS?

The U.S. Army has awarded a $193 million APS contract Leonardo DRS for the protection of the new M1A2 Abrams tanks. The Israel Defense Forces is using the Trophy to protect the Namer heavy infantry fighting vehicle.

ARMY OF THE NEW MACHINE GUN WILL BLOW UP LIKE BATTLE TANKS

This APS-Trophy makes use of a number of radars placed around the tank. The radars will help provide 360 degrees detection of incoming fire.

Around the clock, the radar scans the entire circumference of the maximum range. When a threat penetrates this controlled area, the Trophy automatically identifies and classifies that threat. Breathtakingly fast, the super-smart computer is working the right dead point in space to intercept before the weapon against the tank.

Within milliseconds, the Trophy has assessed whether it is a real threat, it sends a warning to the crew and the nearby forces and launched an EFP (Explosive Formed Projectile) to destroy the projectile.

The counter measures the intercepted incoming, say RPG, and collides with it in mid-air at a safe distance from the vehicle.

Translation – threats can not penetrate Trophy’s protection, keeping the tank and the crew safe from strikes that would have been fatal.

It is important to note that the Trophy, a distinction is made between serious and non-serious threats. For example, if a tank is rolling through a city, and a child throws a stone to the Trophy will not be the fire, and destroy the rock.

SO WHAT DOES THE FIRE?

Insiders call it a “hard kill” approach to stopping the incoming threats.

The interceptors are launched from the top of the tank. With Trophy, the interceptors are a series of small, in the form of costs.

Trophy fires small explosives at a specific point in space to be precise, to intercept and destroy the incoming enemy round.

EXPOSING THE HIDDEN ENEMY ATTACK POSITIONS

Not only the Trophy system to avoid the incoming rounds, but also indicates the position of the enemy shoot at the tank. Trophy figures out of the threat trajectory to successfully intercept the threat. A part of these calculations involves Trophy out of the incoming round point of origin.

Trophy can immediately relay this location to the force, enabling a rapid targeting to stop the source of the threat.

By doing this, Trophy offers you an additional advantage. It rips away the enemy’s ability to conceal themselves. For example, in an urban environment, when an enemy fighter fires an RPG from his hidden position in a building, the location will be exposed to the full power Trophy. The Army can respond quickly – and it will be the last time that the enemy warrior ever tries to kill AMERICAN troops.

BRADLEYS AND THE IRON FIRST LIGHT

The trophy is not necessarily compatible with all US Army combat vehicles. Strength, size, and weight are the three main challenges for the adaptation of the APS, the AMERICAN military vehicles.

Active Protection Systems rely on a lot of power and can be quite heavy. A Bradley has less power available than a tank, and a bulky, heavy APS could undermine the Bradley speed and agility that soldiers trust.

THIS ORANGE, LUXURY BODY ARMOR MATERIAL CAN SAVE LIVES

The Army selected IMI’s Iron Fist for the adjustment of the M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles.

General Dynamics, in cooperation with IMI Systems for the Iron Fist of the Light. As possible, this APS can be used to upgrade the protection, not only on the Bradley’s, but also other vehicles, even light 4×4 vehicles.

Like Trophy, it is designed to provide 360 degrees of protection. Iron Fist Light threats in two ways: a search and track radar, and a staring infrared sensor. It detects hostile fire, and small arms ammunition burst.

Iron Fist Light to burn a small warhead to intercept the threat at a safe distance from the vehicle. It destroys or a shock-wave effect, defeats.

DANGER TO DISMOUNTED TROOPS?

Stopping the incoming fire from ever hitting a tank is great to protect the crew inside, but what about the dismounted troops in the vicinity? Will the explosion of the missile or RPG at a safe distance from the tank are the result of putting boots on the ground increased risk?

TANK-KILLING ROBOT UNVEILED

It is of vital importance that the soldiers in the area of armored tanks, not further in danger by the protection of the vehicles with APS. The explosion caused by the interceptor to hit the enemy round could lead to threats such as shrapnel rains on dismounted troops.

Active Protection Systems certainly pose a challenge, but solutions are available. The U.S. army will need to evolve, and look at how they need to adapt tactics, techniques and procedures for the implementation of this futuristic technology. In fact, smart adaptation could lead to dismounted troops in the vicinity of armoured vehicles to obtain improved protection, and more and safer than ever before thanks to this technology.

So far, it seems as if Israel and Russia have largely been able to adapt, so that solutions are readily available. If Russia can adapt, then the US military certainly just as good.

WHAT IS THE FOLLOWING?

Now, take the hypothetical extreme scenario of the V. S. forced to go in the fight against Russia. The U.S. Army would be the face of armored vehicles who are protected by advanced APS – as in, protected by this wonderful futuristic shields.

If the Russian army fired accurately at the US Army vehicles, US Army vehicles would be hit by the potentially deadly rounds without APS to protect them.

As the U.S. Army responded by targeting the Russian cars, firing rockets and Grenades at them, than the American rounds can be ineffective. Russia APS would be able to stop the US deadly rounds of ever making contact with the Russian APS protected vehicles.

General Milley recently updated the Senate, which within 24 months of Active Protection Systems ready for use. At this moment there is only budget for four brigades to receive this life-saving, futuristic shield.

Artis Iron Curtain is the only AMERICAN APS under consideration with the U.S. Army for the Stryker.

Ultimately, the entire heavy force, all U.S. Army vehicles, including tanks, the current control of the vehicles and in the future combat vehicles will be staged with active safety systems. Along the line, Humvees, JLTVs, and even the U.S. Army helicopters can be equipped with this remarkable tech.
