Instead went Veltman there with the ball off and he gave a cross. There fell, moreover, not a goal.
“Coming back to my action and comment on what I’ve done in the match against Sparta, and against Iván Calero, I say sorry!”, reports Veltman Monday on Twitter. “This I cannot do, it happened in a flash, but continues to foul. Again sorry for that!”
Coach Alex Pastoor of Sparta wound after the incident. “I was very athletic”, he remarked sarcastically. Also coach Peter Bosz of Ajax said they did not know whether he would have done.
The action was Monday a lot of attention at home and abroad. Various media called it an epitome of onsportiviteit.
