WOW Air announced plans to scale back the number of aircraft it flies to the middle of the fight to remain standing.
If you have booked an upcoming flight with WOW Air, you could be forced to reschedule with a different airline.
The budget airline announced Thursday it will cut back from 20 to 11 aircraft and the sale of four Airbus A321s for $10 million to raise much needed cash to the company to keep afloat, USA Today reports.

“After a difficult year, WOW air is now restructuring and simplification of the activities to return to its roots as a profitable ultra-low cost airline, while the talks with Indigo ners in progress,” WOW said in a statement, per USA Today.
While the airline confirmed that there will be no changes in the schedule for December and early January, with existing reservations beyond may be affected and should expect to be reported. WOW Air plans to announce a new schedule for the new year.
The airline was also forced redundancies of 111 employees and will not renew the employment of temporary agency workers and temporary employees, USA Today reports.

“This is the hardest day in the history of WOW Air,” CEO Skuli Mogensen said in the statement. “We have dedicated people who worked hard to WOW Air is a reality, and it breaks my heart to the downsizing of the company. However, to ensure that our future and the preservation of WOW Air on the long term, we unfortunately need these drastic measures.”
