A Florida man was arrested in the theft of the stolen pool floats, told police he used the inflatables for the sex instead of the raping of the women, court papers show.
Christophe Monnin, 35, was charged Thursday with breaking into the backyards of the houses, with a swimming pool in Palm Bay, robbing us of the only flotation device, according to an arrest affidavit.
“Defendant stated that he is sexually satisfying herself with a pool float, rather than the rape of women,” the statement said.
Monnin was on a motorcycle when the police stopped him at 1:25 a.m. Thursday when a suspected person. They found him in possession of a bag full of deflated swimming pool float, the statement said.

Palm Bay has been plagued by the theft of the swimming pool, floating in more than a dozen reported break-ins over the past seven months, according to the affidavit. In some cases, however, the thief cut a screen door to gain access to the pool area.
The statement noted that the police department approximately 75 of the swimming pool, floating in an empty house, where Monnin admitted to stashing them.

He was arrested and charged with burglary, criminal mischief and petit theft and booked into the Brevard County Jail on a $15,000 bond.

The Sebastian, the Daily reported in one of the break-ins that Monnin was accused of stealing a bacon-shaped pool float.
