A man in Florida who claimed that he was a neo-Nazi convert told the police that he killed his two roommates in their apartment, because they “respected” his Muslim faith, police revealed on Monday.
The suspect, an 18-year-old Devon Arthur, called “Allah, Muhammad!” during his arrest in Tampa on Friday night, Fox 13 reported.
He led the police to the bodies after he has released two customers and a worker, he would be taken hostage in a nearby smoke shop, officials said.
Arthur claimed that he was angry at the world “anti-Muslim feelings.

He told the police, “I had to do it. This would not happen if your country not bomb in my country,” the news station reported, adding that he claimed that he and his family shared neo-Nazi beliefs before he converted.
The roommates were identified as an 18-year-old Andrew Oneschuk and the 22-year-old Jeremy Himmelman.

Both men suffered gunshot wounds, police said. The murders were an isolated incident, spokeswoman Janelle McGregor added.
The Tampa Police bomb squad was called, amid concerns of possible explosives in the apartment, but the area was later deemed safe.
